A year from now...
Cake, candles, giggles, fists full of cake....
Birthdays are something I enjoy. They are the Superbowl of my existence. Each one is unique and special. The day we arrived here to experience the amazing and devastating existence we call life.
When my first child was born and celebrated his first year of life I realized...children's birthdays are even better than I expected.
I never knew how painful they would become. After Declan it was a sharp reminder that he wasn't here to be with us and we wouldn't get to watch him enjoy the celebration of his life here.
Once I started hoping for another baby I envisioned all those moments I appreciated even more since my other two living children.
It finally happened. A birthday of my tiny son. Cupcakes and frosting smeared all over. Happy birthday sung out so loud it almost startled him. Celebrating not only that it has been a year since Oliver was born, but that he is here with us.
Happy birthday my sweet baby son! We are so so grateful for your life and the hope and peace you brought with you from Heaven. So excited what the next year will bring.
